Buy more sheets than you think you will need. Sheets will get ruined by make-up, etc. no matter what rules you have in place. There will always be 1 set of everything being cleaned. Pillow cases will continuously have make up stains that will not come out in the wash. I found Dawn soap and a toothbrush will take out all make-up stains.
The more beds you have of the same size the less you will need to buy. If possible, avoid having more than 2 sizes of beds. It is better to spend a little upfront cost on a bedframe and mattress than to maintain 4 different sizes of bed linens.
I recommend the following. 4 sheet sets per bed. 4 pillow cases per pillow with a several extras. 1 pillow case protector per pillow with a few extra. 1 mattress waterproof encasement. 1 mattress pad per bed. 2 duvet covers plus extras.
I personally have used all the sheet sets below. I find I continue to buy the Walmart Mainstays brand which are the cheapest in cost and hold up equally to all the others. I've washed and bleach more times then I can count and everything has held up well without issue.
Also I would recommend cotton or bamboo when possible. Microfiber tends to attract hair during washing. You will end up having to lint roll the microfiber sheets once you put them on the bed.
