I recommend having the following quantities available based on maximum number of guests advertised for. These are the number per max guest: 1 large plate, 1 medium plate, 1 bowl, 2 glasses, 1 mug, 1 wine glass. Then a few extra in your storage closet to cover broken and missing items.
I'd also make sure your listing details the exact number of consumable items per stay. This way the guest knows exactly what to expect and they can plan accordingly. This refers to coffee pods, creamers, dishwashing tabs, etc.
Always buy extras. If anything can be ruined or broken it will be. It's much easier to pull an extra towel or plate out of your storage closet at the last minute than it is to run to the store or place an order when you have another guest checking in the same day.
Cuisine Art coffee maker. Metal carafe prevents broken glass and is a must have. Screen style filter so you do not need to stock paper filters.

This wide slot toaster looks great and works great. Wide openings to toast bread or bagels. Simple design. Just turn the knob and press the button. No digital electronics to malfuntion.
Walmart
15"x25" 100% cotton absorbent towels. These look great hanging from your oven door.

Nice bamboo cutting boards. With the largest at 11"x14" these are probably best for smaller kitchens or where counter space is limited.
Walmart
Multiple colors available. This is a 5 piece set. Very durable and great quality for the price.
Walmart
Pretty much everything you need for your kitchen in one set. Made of silicon and stainless they hold up well.
I suggest a few pot holders. They rarely get damaged and they will protect your countertops from guest putting pots directly on them.
Wayfair
I generally pick up a few sets from thrift stores as this is the always the best deal. If I need a set of plates or bowls Walmart is usually the cheapest on the Corelle sets which seem to be the best quality and rarely get broken. In a pinch these Mainstays brand work just fine.
I'm seem to have the best luck with these for the dishes coming clean the first time around on the quick wash cycle.

Other Items List
Make sure to pick up some of these other items for your kitchen:
baking soda for refrigerator
trash bags
salt and pepper
bottled water
sponges
dish and hand soap
cleaner in a spray bottle
paper towel
fire extinguisher
sippy cups for toddlers
This is a nice complete set. You get a lot for the price. Just remember if you go with a non stick option to make sure all your utensils are plastic or non scratching. The cookware will last much longer when the guest cannot scratch it up.
Walmart
Basic set that holds up well. I suggest not purchasing the trendy colored metal as it wears quickly and looks terrible in short amount of time. Keep it simple.

Oneida brand works out well for me. I always stick with stainless steel. Avoid the fancy colors as they scratch and even chip depending on quality. You can get silverware cheaper but you usually get what you pay for. These feel good in the hand, they clean well, and are sturdy. Walmart is $30 cheaper than Amazon for the exact same set.
